This Standard was created due to the absence of any British or European Standards applicable to children’s domestic and camping furniture.

The standard has been based on the requirements for adult furniture, but adapted to suit the needs of children.

The Standard has been produced and endorsed by the Furniture Retail Quality Group whose members consist of the major furniture retailers in the UK.

Attention is drawn to the fact that the European Standards committee with the responsibility for developing standards for furniture, CEN TC 207, is currently developing a number of standards for children’s furniture, which may supersede this standard.
This standard replaces FIRA/FRQG C002: 2008 +A1: 2010 which is withdrawn.

Compared to the previous version the main changes are:

* Update of references to other British and European Standards
* Update of references to other FRQG documents
